Become a Sassy Samurai:
You might say that it seems so hard and why even bother?
Because you are entitled to a bold, creative, and sassy life, with rich experiences and connections.
“Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up.” – Allen Klein
When you can get beyond fear, that is where the richness and the magic occurs. Maybe like me, you orchestrated a lot of safe gray in your life. Let’s turn boring fear and perfectionism into excitement! Your gifts, emotions, and purpose should be shared with the world. There are people you can help and people who can help you. DON’T LOSE VALUABLE TIME going down a predictable road. Time you could be sharing your TALENTS with the world and CONNECT with people while you are being yourself. Shyness and social anxiety don’t define us. We learned them and they can be unlearned.
I’m here to help you get where you want to live, beyond fear of judgment. If you love content on shyness, social anxiety, and purpose, you’ll be right at home here.

Me! I am Rachel Bourne and I help solve problems by getting to the root and applying creative solutions. I made this site because I learned how important it is to not play it too safe. To no longer allow self-doubt or judgment to hold you back. I thought confidence and the right decisions would come bursting down my door. So I waited and waited and no such knock occurred. I learned there is a certain confidence that you can only gain through action.
I decided to do some introspection (go figure). After taking a branding course, I wrote on my adversities and accomplishments, thinking they were all unrelated. I stood there at the airport (which I recommend for productivity), staring at all these little sheets of paper. I saw the trend and the truth I’d avoided was staring at me in the face and in my own words: I was sensitive, shy, fearful, and judgmental.
Every possible reason someone becomes shy and anxious showed up at every stage and every corner of my life, so embracing it finally felt like the right thing to do.
This is me as a child playing a samurai in a Japanese ad, I was definitely a shy samurai.
I struggled with fear, fainting, social phobia, social awkwardness, introversion, being an only child, and being a military kid. As an adult, my responsibilities increased and I had to gain the tools and support to keep up with the emotional and social demands. I went on a year long soul-searching journey. I lost 30 pounds, got out of credit card debt, quit alcohol (1 year and a half and counting), ran a marathon, and poured into books, courses, and tools. I started to build consistency in meditation, positive habits, and in pursuing goals until there was nothing else left to face.
Then it was finally time to get off my island, as nothing new was coming ashore. I joined Lewis Howes’ School of Greatness and Summit of Greatness and my comfort zone and social connections expanded in new and exciting ways. I learned I pretended fear didn’t exist until it grew very large. Like in the film The Babadook, you have to learn to caress and feed your little fear monster so it does not terrorize you and rule your life.
I should mention here that I’m a huge movie buff, so you’ll see movie references sometimes because that’s where my brain goes. Being a shy, introverted, sensitive, fearful only child, and frequent new kid on the block lined up nicely to becoming a movie fanatic.
But this site is not about me, my goal here is to share everything I have and everything I learn that will help you add COLOR to your world and overcome social anxiety and shyness. I don’t know where you are in your journey but we can take it together. I appreciate you being here and want to hear about your progress, so let’s connect 🙂
